Hadassah and Rodion’s wedding took place on a beautiful hot summer’s day at The Barnes at Lodge Farm in deepest Essex, with the Chuppah in a field adjacent to the venue, conducted by the bride’s father, Rabbi Claude.
The choice of procession songs was unique – “Do You Right Woman, Do Right Man” by Aretha Franklin for the Groom and The Beatles’ “In My Life” for the bride (Hadassah’s surprise to her groom), followed by the Schweky version of “Eshet Chayil”.
Rodion first introduced himself to us as a “mountain Jew” from Kazakhstan (marrying Hadassah from Edgware!), so some of the music we played had to reflect his heritage. One of his dance choices was the infectious Kazakh track “Tost 1234” which led to Rodion and his father performing a high energy Kazakh dance.
