Eleanor Brookes Batmitzvah

Eleanor Brookes' Havdalah Bat Mitzvah

Eleanor’s Bat Mitzvah was the last in the trilogy of Brookes Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, all well organised, high energy and joyous affairs at Belsize Square Synagogue.

Reception was in the Hall, followed by Havdalah, dancing and dinner in the Sanctuary.

Highlights were the cameo by Eleanor singing an Ed Sheeran song accompanied by Shir, and a performance by Eleanor’s father’s  accapella group, Jonah and The Wailers.

The Led Israeli Dancing set is always a strong point with the Brookes family as they, and many of their friends, are ex Habonim Dror members with a strong Israeli connection.

“I was asked what was our formula for a good Bar/Bat Mitzvah, by an anxious couple approaching the ‘milestone’.

I said, in this order,

1. Book Shir

2. Then book a hall and a simple and flexible caterer, because you will be dancing and celebrating all night.

1 year later I got a surprise case of wine with a note saying thank you.

It’s not a Simcha without Shir!”
